Man accused of indecent exposure, following victim home in Gwinnett County
Gwinnett County police are looking for a man accused of indecent exposure after he followed a woman home from a store.
The incident happened Tuesday in Buford and started when a woman realized she was being stared at and followed at a Walmart. The unidentified victim and her boyfriend spoke briefly with FOX 5’s Marissa Mitchell about the incident. They said, once she drove home a few miles away, the man followed her in his car then committed lewd, sexual acts after he parked outside her home. The woman yelled at the man before writing down his license plate number. According to the incident report, the victim told officers the man was driving a newer model black Toyota Corolla with license plate RDZ9099.
“I understand maybe catching someone’s eye at a grocery store or a retail store but to take the next step and follow that person home? That’s disturbing,” Gwinnett County Police Corporal Michele Pihera said.
Investigators do not know if it is the man’s first time committing the act, but they stress indecent exposure cases can always escalate to physical contact.
“Is the first time he’s done it? Or, is it the 20th time?” Pihera said. “We don’t know if he is capable of not only approaching a female but engaging in some sort of contact with her. Maybe this is just one step in that process.”
