Suspect dismissed, new arrest made in "AK47" murder
A new arrest has been made in the killing of a teen in DeKalb County on April 12, while another suspect’s charge in the case has been dismissed, according to authorities.
According to DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, 23-year-old Javian Nesby, of Decatur, faces one count of felony murder in the shooting death of Jordon Morris.
Nesby was arrested Tuesday and booked into the DeKalb County Jail without incident.
He is believed to be responsible for fatally shooting Morris in the face with an AK47-style assault rifle, according to authorities.
Jaleel Nathanael Dix, 22, of Lithonia was initially arrested and charges in the case, but the charges were subsequently dismissed after detectives conducted interviews, which led to Nesby, deputies said.
