Olympic Gold medalist Simone Biles revealed this week that she was diagnosed with ADHD as a child after hackers released her medical records. The World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) revealed Russian hackers uncovered confidential medical records of certain U.S. Olympic athletes, including Biles. Those reports showed she tested positive for methylphenidate, also known as Ritalin. USA Gymnastics released a statement saying Biles followed protocol and was allowed to take the prescription due to her condition. In a tweet on Tuesday, she confirmed her ADHD diagnosis and said she wholeheartedly believes in a “clean sport.” Read more.


NY Attorney General Probes Trump Foundation

New York’s Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced plans on Tuesday to open an inquiry into the Trump Foundation. The probe will look into a portrait purchased by Donald Trump and the Foundation’s donation to Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. The AG’s office is already pursuing litigation against Trump University and past students’ claims they were swindled out of their money. The Trump Foundation faced criticism after it donated money to Bondi’s campaign right after the Florida AG decided to drop litigation in Florida to pursue the students’ claims. Trump’s campaign responded to the inquiry on Tuesday, calling it “another left-wing hit job designed to distract from Crooked Hillary Clinton’s disastrous week.” Schneiderman is a Clinton supporter. Read more.


‘Black Rifles Matter’ Sign Sparks Debate

A “Black Rifles Matter” sign painted on private property in Maine’s Boothbay Harbor has divided the community. The sign’s creator, Linc Sample, says his message is about guns – not rights. Others believe the sign is disrespectful to a movement that works to communicate the equality of Black lives. Sample says critics should feel “honored” by his play on words. The Boothbay Harbor Chamber of Commerce says Sample obtained the proper paperwork to display the sign and is within his constitutional rights. Read more.


J’Ouvert Shooter Faces 25 Years To Life

Reginald Moise, the 20-year-old man accused of shooting Tiarah Poyau at an early morning Caribbean celebration, was indicted by a New York Supreme Court judge on Tuesday. Moise faces 25 years to life if he is found guilty. He was not present during the indictment, according to reports. Moise was arrested last week. He told authorities that he was severely intoxicated when he shot Poyau and was unaware the gun was loaded. Read more.


Russell Simmons Offers Brandon Marshall Endorsement Deal

Brandon Marshall, the Denver Broncos linebacker who faced severe criticism for kneeling in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick during the National Anthem, has the support of media mogul Russell Simmons. After reports that Marshall lost two endorsement deals with the Air Academy Federal Credit Union and CenturyLink broke earlier this week, Simmons came forward on Tuesday to offer Marshall a partnership with RushCard. Simmons used Instagram to extend the invitation, writing, “RUSHCARD is in. We will find Brandon and make him an offer and make him a deal.” Read more.
