Your tip sheet: A ‘pharmacy audit bill of rights,’ and medical weed

Days remaining in the 2017 Legislative session: 20

Both the House and Senate go in at 10 a.m., with more action scheduled for committee than on the floor.

The House will consider a handful of mostly minor bills on the floor today, including House Bill 206, the  Pharmacy Audit Bill of Rights that would allow pharmacies and other medical assistance providers the ability to correct errors in Medicaid documentation and be granted a hearing before facing financial punishment.

The Senate will tackle four bills, including three minor health care bills.

In committee at 1 p.m. in 307 CLOB, the Senate Public Safety Committee will consider Senate Bill 160, the “Back the Badge Act of 2017” that would increase aggravated battery penalties for protestors who get into confrontations with law enforcement officers.

The House Ways & Means Committee at 3 p.m. in 406 CLOB is taking up a truth-in-taxing constitutional amendment that would force the state to spend fee money for things like driver’s education and tire dump cleanups when they tell Georgians that’s what the fees are supposed to go for.

And the House Judiciary Non-Civil meets at 1 p.m. in 515 CLOB and has a hearing scheduled on HB 65, state Rep. Allen Peake’s medical marijuana update which would expand the list of eligible illnesses to include AIDS, Alzheimer’s disease, autism, intractable pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, and Tourette’s syndrome.
