The advisory includes Fannin, Gilmer, Union, Towns, Lumpkin and White counties and the cities of Dahlonega and Cleveland. After a period of snow showers overnight, some light snow can continue to fall from time to time this morning, but any additional accumulations will be light.

As the last of the precipitation moves out, winds will increase today. A Wind Advisory goes into effect at 10 a.m. this morning for gusty northwest winds up to 30 mph. The threat would be damage due to falling trees and large limbs.

Temperatures all week will be below the averages, with a hard freeze expected on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. The combination of wind and cold Wednesday morning will produce frigid wind chill values down into the teens – and, for the mountains, even single digits!
