‘Political Rewind’ replay: The White House aide who would pull the system down

With the shadow of the Atlanta Falcons’ Super Bowl loss hanging overhead, today’s cast of GPB’s “Political Rewind” sought refuge in the weekend doings of the Trump administration.

Specifically, chief White House strategist Steve Bannon. On the line with us was David Von Drehle, author of a Time magazine article on Bannon’s role as Trump’s ideologist. From the piece:

Bannon is the one who keeps the doctrine pure, the true believer, who is in it not for money or position, but to change history. “What we are witnessing now is the birth of a new political order,” Bannon wrote in an email to the Washington Post…

A party guest recalled meeting him as a private citizen and Bannon telling him that he was like Lenin, eager to “bring everything crashing down, and destroy all of today’s Establishment.”
