Police: Man shoots grandmother, kills her husband
A Douglasville man accused of shooting his grandmother and killing her husband was arrested on Monday.
Around 9:15 Sunday night police got an open line domestic disturbance 911 call from a home on Lake Hollow Court in the Chapel Hill subdivision, which is a golf course community in Douglas County.

Douglasville police said Officer Thomas Lee Altman was the first to arrive on scene.
“Our officer arrived on scene and he heard a disturbance inside the house at which time he found the door to be open and to check on the safety of the individuals inside, he began to go inside the house where he was confronted by a suspect armed with a handgun,” said Douglasville Police Major J. R. Davidson.
Police identified that suspect as Patrick Canada, 25, who investigators said Canada pointed his gun at Officer Altman, ignoring verbal commands. That’s when there was an exchange of gunfire, but no one was hit.
Police said Altman’s gun malfunctioned, so he left the home and went toward his patrol car to grab his rifle. While doing so, Altman saw Canada’s grandmother, 64-year-old Pamela Lynn Henn, leaving the back of the home. She had been shot multiple times.
Altman then saw Canada leaving the house through the same door, according to police. He was taken into custody without any more issues.
Altman, along with several other officers, then searched the home and found Douglas Keith Henn, 59, dead on the scene. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Police believe Canada got into an argument with Mr. Henn, his step-grandfather, before the victim was shot.
Canada has been charged with one count of murder and three counts of aggravated assault, including one against a police officer.
