The next level of incredible, incisive, news and infotainment.

One of the nation’s premier African American news show production has returned for its 2020 Spring Series. Covering politics on a state, local and national level, Newsmakers Live delivers provocative yet important news-edge interviews. The online platform is providing visibility and recognition to influencers and decision-makers.

“Newsmakers Live! is known for going where others dare not go when it comes to news topics and issues,” said James “Jim” Welcome, creator and executive producer of Newsmakers Live.

Newsmakers Live! kicks off its 12th season, The Millennial Edition, March 24 at BQE Restaurant and Lounge. Atlanta model coach and radio personality, Shay Davis, host the new season of Newsmakers Live! as it expands their reach on topics and issues affecting the community: human trafficking, racial divisiveness, economic globalization, the digital divide, and more. With the Presidential Election just a few months away, the 2020 Presidential primary election is covered as well.

This year, Newsmakers has invited multiple moderators to assist with the show. Each is supported by eight-time Emmy-winning journalists, Maynard Eaton. Eaton has been the show only moderator for eleven seasons. The guest moderators are Dr. Rashad Richey (radio personality at WAOK and V103 Atlanta), Taos Wynn (founder of Perfect Love Foundation and the Millennial Civil Rights campaign), Shelley Wynter (conservative veteran radio talk show host), and Derek Boazman (former Atlanta city councilman and WAOK radio talk show host). They all have experienced or worked in tv, radio, and the political spheres of metro Atlanta and are well respected in their communities.

“So we’ll be bringing you the critical voices and expertise that can capture your intellect and your interests,” said Welcome.

Newsmakers Live! is known to have great conversationalists and notable guests on the show. From mayors to athletes and entertainers, the show captures Atlanta’s influential leaders. Keisha Lance Bottoms, Stacey Abrams, Brenda Woods, Rev. Gerald Durley are a few among the many high profile guests to grace the stage.

BQE Restaurant and Lounge host Newsmakers Live! Tuesday’s nights. The show begins at seven with a pre-show cocktail hour: five-dollar drink specials and free wine tasting with the purchase of any appetizer.  New York-style cocktails combined with a live musical performance by the Mike Bend makes Newsmakers Live! a great networking opportunity to mingle with the show’s guests and other like-minded individuals.

Save the date! An unforgettable season like no other. Newsmakers Live! makes its return March 24, 2020, the Presidential Primary Day.
