New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is ready to take his political career to the next level. He announced his presidential run Tuesday morning. The announcement was held at Livingston High School in Essex County, New Jersey, where Gov. Christie formerly served as class president. “If I decide I want to do this, I’m going to do it honestly, and I’m going to go at as hard as I can and try to win every day,” he said. “I will never give being who I am, because that’s a thing that stays with you forever.” As of now, there are currently thirteen candidates in the 2016 presidential race. New Case of Ebola Surfaces in Liberia

Almost two months after Liberia was declared Ebola-free, a new case of the disease has surfaced. After an autopsy, the body of a 17-year-old Liberian man tested positive for Ebola. Deputy health minister Tolbert Nyenswah confirmed the teen passed away due to the disease. Officials are now looking into how the young man might have possibly contracted Ebola. Although many people in the African region are scared about being exposed to the disease, officials say they should not panic. “We have said over and over again that there was possibility that there could be a resurgence of the virus in Liberia,” said Nyenswah. “But our surveillance team, our capacity is very strong. The only complication is that the person died before we tested the body as part of our surveillance system.” The disease has claimed the lives of 11,000 people in Liberia and its neighboring countries. President Obama’s Approval Rating Increases

Over the past few weeks, President Obama has been addressing issues in our country head-on; and it seems as if “keeping it real” is working in his favor. He candidly addressed race relations following the massacre that took place in Charleston, played an integral role in legalizing gay marriage, and held tight to Obamacare. After several months of mediocre approval ratings, a new CNN/ORC poll revealed that for the first time in 2 years, 50 percent of Americans believe that President Obama is doing a good job leading the United States. His approval rating has increased by 5 points since last month. Fifty-two percent of Americans think he’s handling the economy well, and 55 percent believe that he’s tackling race relations within our country in an appropriate manner. Read more.
