When Donald Trump tweeted out a congratulations of sorts to the newly elected Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez, he probably didn’t expect the man to clap back quite so hard or so quickly.
Trump tweeted that he “couldn’t be happier” that Perez won the seat at the head of the table before the former Secretary of Labor told him to hold up.
“Call me Tom. And don’t get too happy. @keithellison and I, and Democrats united across the country, will be your worst nightmare,” tweeted Perez.
Perez won the Saturday election against Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN). After his win, Perez suspended committee rules and made Ellison as his co-chair. This was intended to send a message of unity to the rest of the party after a rough year.
