Couple Teaches Young Stranger How to Tie His Tie at MARTA Station

An Atlanta resident snapped a touching photo at the Lindbergh Center MARTA station while waiting for a train over the weekend. He called it “humans & humanity” and it’s quickly going viral.

According to Facebook user Redd Desmond Thomas, a young man was sitting down struggling with his tie, which is a rite of passage many boys have a hard time learning as they enter into manhood. A woman, seen in the photo wearing a red coat, spotted the young man and asked him if he knew how to tie it properly.

The boy told her “no ma’am,” according to the post. That’s when the woman tapped on her husband.

“Come to this side and teach this young man how to tie his tie,” she said.

The Facebook post said the older gentleman moved without hesitation, gave the boy a step-by-step tutorial, and then afterwards watched him repeat the steps and prove he had it down.

“I was some distance away (but close enough to hear the exchange), and got even closer to snap this candid photo of the tutorial in progress before hopping on the train. I LOVE THIS” Thomas said on Facebook.

The post has been shared more than 129,000 times on Facebook and has more than 326,000 likes.
