Banks County deputy shot near outlet mall
Authorities said a Banks County deputy is luck to be alive after a shooting Wednesday afternoon.
It happened near the Tanger Outlets off Interstate 85 in Jackson County. Investigators said the deputy was in pursuit of the man when the shooting occurred.
Authorities said the gunman is still on the loose. A description was not immediately available.
The name of the deputy has not yet been released, but authorities said he suffered non-life threatening injuries thanks to his vest.
